Product Overview

Some people call them collated sheets, unbound printed sheets, loose sheet printing, printed book blocks, print collated sets, multi-page print outs and so on. Either way, printing unbound collated sheets is a great way to see final proofs.  We have a vast choice of papers to choose from so you can run off a full printed copy to check or markup before ordering your final print run with a bound finish. Drilling is available so you can insert your printed book blocks straight into a standard two-hole or four-hole hole ring binder.

Paper Options

Silk 
Silk coated paper has a smooth feel with a discreet surface sheen. It offers excellent ink to paper contrast, and printed colours appear distinct and clear. A recycled option is available.

Gloss
Gloss coated paper has a shiny surface and a very smooth finish. Colour is sharp and stands out well. Ink dries quickly and the need for lamination is reduced.

Premium uncoated 
Our premium uncoated paper is more absorbent than coated paper. Printed inks appear flatter due to this absorbency, and the paper has a soft finish. A recycled option is available.

Luxury Papers

We have a comprehensive selection of luxury papers for when only the best will do.

FAQs

Q. What do you mean by collated sheets?
A. To collect and arrange the sheets of a report, book, etc., in the correct order.

Q. What do you mean by unbound?
A. When printing a book block you can get it finished as a glued perfect bound book or a wiro bound book. Binding is a process that is used to finish a report or book, but what if you haven't finished it? When it's still at a draft stage it's better to print the book as unbound collated (loose sheets) so you can make notes and written changes which can then be replaced before printing and finishing the book with your chosen binding.

Q. How do I supply my artwork?
A. You should supply one pdf file with all the pages in the correct running order. Please see our Print-Ready PDF guide for more information.

Q. Do I need bleed and crop marks on my artwork?
A. Yes, this is very important when producing wiro bound booklets. Please provide at least 3mm bleed on all edges. For more information, see Bleed Explained guide.

Q. Do I need to adhere to certain margins when designing my unbound collated sheets?
A. When designing unbound collated sheets, please ensure that all-important content and text is kept to a minimum of 20mm from the hole drill edge of each page. This would be the left-hand side for right-hand pages and the right-hand side for left-hand pages. If you do not require holes drilled then you can use 5mm as a guide around the edges of all pages.

Q. Do I need to supply fonts?
A. If you supply us with a print-ready pdf then the fonts should be embedded. However, we might require fonts when supplying files in other formats.
